Insurance buyer: is an organization or individual who enters into an insurance contract with HDI, pays insurance premiums and has insurance interests with the insured. The insurance buyer can also be the insured or the beneficiary.
Insured: means an organization or individual whose life is insured under an insurance contract. The insured can also be the beneficiary.
Sum insured: is the maximum amount that HDI may have to compensate Insured Person or Beneficiary. Sum insured or method to determine sum insured is agreed upon by the insurance buyer and HDI in the insurance contract.
Accident: is any sudden, unforeseeable event, caused by the impact of a sudden, unforeseen, external, unintended force or object on the body of the person being insured that occurs during the insurance period and is the direct cause of bodily injury or death to insured person.
Temporary disability: is a physical disability that makes the insured unable to perform part or all of daily work for a certain period of time.
Permanent Disability:
a) Partial Permanent Disability: Is an injury that causes one or more body parts of Insured Person to be unable to restore normal function.
b) Total Permanent Disability: Injury that causes the Insured Person to be completely prevented from participating in his or her work or to completely lose the ability to work in any type of work and lasting for 52 consecutive weeks and no hope of progression of that injury.
Pre-existing disability: are injuries to Insured Person that occurred before participating in insurance contract with HDI.
Basis for determining injury: Expressed in the doctor's diagnosis in medical records/medical documents or sequelae/damage existing on the body or according to the opinion of relevant professional agencies.
Occupational disease: is a disease arising from harmful working conditions affecting workers, which list of occupational diseases is issued by competent state agencies.
Inpatient treatment: when a patient stays in a medical facility for at least 24 consecutive hours. Hospital discharge is one of the necessary documents to claim for this benefit.
Medical expenses: expenses prescribed by the doctor directly treating Insured Person, arising directly from the treatment of injury and for the purpose of treating Insured Person's injury. These costs must be actual, necessary and reasonable costs at the medical facility providing treatment services.
